Women Development Program
“JANAMANGAL (Center for Independent Living)” aims to sensitize and organize women as well as the adolescent girls to initiate appropriate actions on gender equity and issues for the achievement of a dignified life at par.
 
Village level mobilization camps for adolescent girls, young women and Women SHG members on gender issues/ rights involved where 131 male and 287 female were involved.
 
Network alliance building with other likeminded organizations, women groups and Mission Shakti groups
 
Legal aid training imparted to 113 members of Women SHGs. Simultaneously counseling and legal support provided to 32 violence affected women.
 
Leadership and Life Skill Education training program conducted in Nilagiri block of Balasore district, Kaptipada and Udala block of Mayurbhanj district where 186 women and adolescents were involved.
 
7 Gram Panchayat Level and One Block level workshops on gender related issues and violence against women session conducted in Nilagiri block of Balasore district
 
Social security helpline provision for trafficking, rape, HIV/AIDS victims, violence affected victims for 57 women and adolescents in Nilagiri block of Balasore district and Udala Block of Mayurbhanj district area has been provided.
 
Local Self Governance
“JANAMANGAL (Center for Independent Living)” organizes various interface workshops among community, Panchayati Raj Representatives, Line department, NGOs, CBOs, SHGs, BPL, Tribal and other vulnerable families to develop good governance.
 
“JANAMANGAL (Center for Independent Living)” works to enable women, tribal’s, dalit and poor villagers to access in to local governance system for their greater participation and involvement in the decision making process to accelerate collective initiatives on poverty alleviation.
 
Orientation of 187 person’s community leaders, Women SHG members & youth on different government schemes and provisions.
